Marcus's story begins with a chance encounter during a family visit to the Mekdela Kids project neighborhood, when he appeared to be about 9 years old. Lost and homeless at the tender age of 6, he faced unimaginable challenges that cast a shadow on his self-esteem.

Caza Con Foundation stepped in to provide Marcus with the support he desperately needed, immediately enrolling him at Mekdela Elementary School. Through access to education and extracurricular activities, he began to blossom into an exceptional student and athlete. The foundation became a beacon of hope, breaking the shackles of poverty that once confined him.

Living in precarious conditions near a police station, Marcus was the sole beneficiary of full meals from Caza Con Foundation. While other kids received only breakfast and lunch at Mekdela school, Marcus enjoyed consistent nourishment, ensuring he had food on his plate even during vacations.

Marcus's artistic expression became a poignant testament to his life's journey. His painting, sold for $200, vividly captures the stark contrast between his past and present. One side of the canvas symbolizes darkness, while the other bursts with vibrant colors, with a face representing the transformative figures, Connie and Marc, who played pivotal roles in his life.

While Marcus hasn't yet achieved higher education, Caza Con Foundation continued its support by offering him a driving course in 2022. This gesture represents not just a skill acquisition but a symbol of empowerment, opening doors to new opportunities and independence.
